Well, I suppose you could start by taking a look through the folders of photos on your computer...
The Newest Hamster joined us in March :)
We spent a week in Florence (also visiting Pisa and Siena) at Easter.
I got to see the Grand Depart of the Tour de France in July!
Our family holiday in the summer was to Orkney, which was fascinating - we loved the wildlife, especially the super cute puffins! :)
In honour of turning - um - 30 plus(!), The Doctor and I took a special trip to New York in August.
The Mother got The Dog in the summer! The Tomboy is overjoyed :)
That's not the full story - no mention of The Tomboy's win of a big poetry competition, or The Boy's starting his GCSEs and passing his Grade 5 tuba, or The Doctor's latest publication, or my new job (which meant leaving the school where I'd been involved for 10 years, one way or another) - but it maybe gives you a small flavour of how 2014 was for us :) I hope it was good for you!

Golly, that has been a packed year, Mel! You've been north, south and west :). Nice to see that smiling photo of you - last time we met you were decorating your stick with washi tape!

Sounds fab! That is a lot of accomplishments you made. I hope you enjoy 2015 too :-)
I've just read this and thought, how do I know this already? The power of FB, plus chatting over cups of coffee, of course!
I'm very excited to see you back blogging again and I have thoroughly enjoyed this catch up. The holiday in Orkney is jumping out at me - it's on my list of must do holidays, too. We definitely share holiday tastes.
Happy New Year to all of you!
What a fun year. I have loved seeing these pop up on fb over the last few months too! So exciting to see a post from you pop up in my reader. What a delight for the new year!

No wonder you didn't have time for blogging! Sounds like you had a great year. Hope 2015 is just as good.

Hi Mel...great to see your 2014 highlights...I'm back like a bad penny after too long away from Blogland! Hope 2015 is full of good things too!
It sounds like 2014 was an eventful year for you and your family with definitely some fun times thrown in there. The Orkneys look beautiful and I would love to go one day. Did you enjoy New York? I was exhausted after a long weekend there many years ago ;)
I hope 2015 will be a brilliant year for you too :)
The Orkneys are on my list of places to see, love that gorgeous puffin and that sweet doggy face. You seem to have made lots of lovely memories of 2014 Mel.
What a great snippet of 2014! I can't wait to find out more of what you have been up to :)
I have missed you and checked all through 2014 to see if you were back. Hope all is well with you. Katharine xx (formerly of Liberty Cottage!)
It was a great year - thank goodness for FB so I didn't miss much while it was happening!
Sounds like it was a fun year and congrats to everyone on their accomplishments. Sounds like there were no after affects of that foot injury. Looking forward to hearing about your 2015.
