Of course I didn't let this one pass me by either! With apologies to American friends whose different way of writing the date meant that this special combination didn't occur....

At 12 minutes past 8 in the evening on 20th December 2012, I was reaching up to fetch Pride and Prejudice from the shelf so I could re-read it once again :)

(The Doctor said to me "Isn't it about the 12th time you've read that?" - and he wasn't even trying to fit the theme! Unfortunately I think he underestimated; I can't be sure exactly how many times I HAVE read it, but it's probably nearer 20.... I read it twice last year alone!)

That's a fine collection :). The Doctor clearly has special abilities!

Well documented Mel, I watched it the other day but haven't read it for a while, excellent stuff. Did you watch Mariella's Book Show with the Shakespeare buff on it the other week, see if you can find it if not, very good stuff.

I have just discovered that the surgeon who will operate on my knee is called...Mr Darcy!
[mind you, my consultant is Mr Sharif- I haven't got the nerve to ask if his first name is Omar]

I just read a quote in Gretchen Rubin's Happier at Home that said, "The best reading is rereading." I don't do much of that because the pile of new books is always so high.

I, on the other hand, tried so hard but could NOT get myself into this book and finally gave up about 1/3 of the way through.

What a well read collection you have there P&P is the only Austen I have read more than once voluntarily. :)

I'm sorry to say, Mel, that I really struggled with P&P.....I just don't like the language in 'the classics'....I actually have the copy you sent me (which I DID finish) still to pass on!

How great to document another 'special' moment in time! Pride & Prejudice just makes me laugh out loud in places & want to give the characters a shake in others!! It's so beautifully written & I love it!! Note to self: must get some classics downloaded onto my Kindle!! :D

I love seeing shelves of well read books, I have never read P & P though so will have to add it to my reading list :)

Well done Mel, I missed this one, tucked up in bed with the start of the Christmas Flu. xx

Now how did I miss that? BTW, I'm reading Pride & Prejudice for the very first time - we never took it in school. Guess its better late than never right?
