Crash! Bang!

No, I'm not planning to tell the story of my fall again! This is just a quick note to share a couple of other kinds of crashes and bangs!

Firstly, yay for living just along the road from the park where we have our local fireworks display. There was no way I was going to get to that park this year, never mind stand there for 15-20 minutes watching the fireworks, but we set up a chair outside our front door and I watched from home :) The Tomboy stayed home with me (she always finds the noise too much, and has never yet lasted through the whole display in the park) while The Doctor and The Boy went along to the park to enjoy the atmosphere there.

Yay also for my new zoom lens - I didn't take many photos, I mainly just sat back and enjoyed watching, but I did want to try out the lens and have a bit of a play with the settings on my camera, and I was really pleased with this shot:

Less yay has been another kind of crash this week :( I've been having some computer problems, hence my quieter few days in blogworld. The internet has been playing up a little, though that seems to have settled down now; more worryingly, my laptop keeps having hissy fits and shutting itself down unexpectedly :( I'm hoping I can get this post out there before it does so - and (some would say, more importantly!) I'm hoping to get in our online Asda shop, too, or we might be rather hungry this weekend!! So apologies if I haven't been able to visit your blogs or if I'm rather quiet on here - blame my computer....

We had a really good display we could watch from our back garden as well.
Fingers crossed for the computer....going hungry doesn't sound good!!

Wow, that's a great photo. I find getting good fireworks photos a real challenge. Hope the computer is not really a crash!

Funny, my laptop has been doing the same - everything is running very slowly, I can't sign into flickr to comment on the Monthly Makes there..it's all a mess. I've been blaming it on a security update I got, but who knows? Okay, rant over for today..

Hope the laptop/internet sorts itself out. I was going nuts when I didn't have mine for a while in September.
Keeping my fingers crossed you get your shopping done x

When I was little we used to live just down the road from a hive park that every year had a fair with its fireworks display. My Dad used to take me to the early display and then I'd rush home to sit at my parents window and watch the last show :)

Nice fireworks shot. They're not easy. That reminds me I haven't posted mine - too busy having fun at half term, and too busy since. Will try to do so this evening as I got a couple I was quite proud of too. Hope you got your shopping done

Fantastic photo! I quite like the idea of sitting down and watching the fireworks from the comfort of your own home. Glass of mulled wine in one hand, and camera in the other ... perfect!

If I were you, I'd opt to watch every future Bonfire Night from the front step! Fabulous shot.

Oh what a pain about the computer - we miss them when they are not working. A great shot Mel, I've never taken fireworks shots - this has come up really well.

Great shot. My laptop was doing stupid things recently ... slowing down, overheating a bit ... and then one day it wouldn't start up at all! Luckily Hubby is ACE with IT and we recovered it, but my back-up was 5 months old so there was also lots of file copying to be done!!!
Take a back-up NOW just in case ...

Just to say, you saved me from a culinary disaster today! I made mini baked doughnuts and they were a disaster, then I tried your recipe from your recipe blog and they worked - hurray! Thanks Mel

Nice fireworks picture! How were you able to get such a nice shot without all the disturbance from the street lights?

When electronics work they're great when they don't they're a real pain in the bum.

Great photo Mel. Fireworks can be so hard to photograph. Hope all your computer woes are fixed by now.
