Rats. And drat. I am an idiot. *sigh!*
OK, so it's not like it matters hugely in the big scheme of things, but you know what a completer-finisher, OCD type I am!
I loved doing Rinda's Photography Scavenger Hunt, it was such fun :) You may recall that I gave myself the additional conditions of (i) only giving myself a week to find all the items, and (ii) trying to find the two substitute items AS WELL AS the original 21.
Just because I am me!
You may possibly also recall that I didn't manage to find the four-leaf clover, and that I was a bit gutted about it? I'd decided that for that one particular item only I'd relax condition (i) above, in order to try to meet condition (ii) above.
But I didn't find one :( And the deadline was yesterday :(
Guess what happened this morning? Yes, this very morning, the very next day after the deadline?
I walked into The Tomboy's bedroom and spotted, on her windowsill, a good luck card she'd been sent by her The Grandparents to wish her well in a test she was doing:
And what is its design?
Four leaf clovers, of course!
And when did they send it to her?
Two weeks ago.
And when did she display it on her windowsill?
TWO WEEKS AGO.
And how many times have I been in her bedroom since then?
AT LEAST TWICE A DAY.
EVERY DAY!!
Yep, I am an idiot. And drat. And rats. *sigh!*
And yes, OK, it doesn't really matter, I should get a sense of proportion, and I did find the original 21 items, etc, etc - but - well, because I am me, I am still a bit disappointed that I was so unobservant that I didn't spot it sooner.... *big sigh!*

Oh Mel - ouch! Have you stopped beating yourself up yet? Your treasure hunt efforts have been concentrated and splendid, and I am sure you have got more of most things than anyone else. Sympathising, nevertheless. :)
lol, you do sound a bit like me!!
guess who saw a blushing bride this morning when on my way out shopping? Blushing was not the word that fell from my lips when I saw her. Mr M said his ears shrivelled!
I think we'll forgive you,Mel....you just have to forgive yourself!!!!!
Ha ha ha ha typical!
Shall I now share that I spent half an hour hunting through the house to see if recent "Good Luck With Your Exams" cards had any clovers on ... and then remembered that DD had some awful lime green trim ... and another 10 minutes looking for it!
Oh don't worry about - it's the sort of thing i do all the time. You got everything else.
LOL, I thought I was reading a story about myself for a minute... don't beat yourself up!!
I'm the one who spent over an hour looking for her car keys to realize they were in my pockets the whole time. :/
Oh no! I can imagine your reaction as the penny finally dropped as you looked at that card. You know, the one you have seen twice a day for 2 weeks. You've probably even picked it up and dusted around it. Maybe even opened it and re-read the message. A lesson for us all to learn, that sometimes the things we are searching for are underneath our noses all the time!!!
Oh what a shame {{{{{{{{{{{{{huggles}}}}}}}}}}} you can cry on my shoulder if you like lol
Scrappy jacky is right you will have to forgive yourself and move on lol
Oh No! That sounds like something I would have done. Hope you've stopped beating yourself up about it - you did get the rest and it was an optional.
what's a deadline between friends? Count it. I dare you. You know I would..:)
oh look at you and u a dr who fan, get in that tardis and go back in time hunni xxxx
jo xx
ps wasnt tonight better than the past few episodes?
ha ha! Oh Mel. I am chuckling to myself so much! I find it hilarious that you are cross about something because you mentally told yourself you had to do it! I can so relate to that! xx
LOL!! Oh Mel!! You are funny!! I'm now having a moment of 'did I dream it?' because I had in my head that a heart shaped stone was the 'spare' item....I would never have found a four leaf clover!! BUT...I did a similar thing & only just realised today when editing some photo's....I walked to the field at the end of the village to capture a shot of a horse, when I had several photo's uploaded of mounted police taken in the Olympic Village on August 7th!! Don't feel too bad!! :D
LOL! I wish I could say I don't understand how this could happen, BUT I know all too well that it could happen here very easily.
LOL!! Mel, you are funny...I love this story as it's a great illustration of how we often times just can't see the forest for the trees, or this case, the four leaf clovers! ;)
Ooooops! been there Mel x
Oh how annoying. Do you knaw how many Film posters I've seen since I declared myself finished and stopped carrying my camera around?!
I've been overlooking a 4 leaf clover I crocheted & that has been laying on the living room floor for weeks. My only thought about it is "How come I have to pick up everything in this house? I'm going to see how long this remains on the floor if I ignore it." and it was only last week I really thought about it actually being a 4 leaf clover.
LOL! Just pretend you're hawaiian! The time difference is enough to get you in under the deadline.
Aloha,
Rinda
This totally made me smile today because sometimes its the obvious things I miss (glad I'm not the only one!).
Idiot - I don't think so. Overachiever - yes, in spades or would that be clovers. And did daughter do well on the test with the help of the good luck charms?
ohhhhh Mellll lol I can imagine your facial expression when you "saw" it! I know how you felt so am glad to know there are others like me in the world.
At least you only missed a photo. I just went to scrap365 blog to discover that I won a pair of tickets to the Big Stamp and Craft Fair at Ally Pally (which was on my birthday) and never claimed them!!!!!!!
Oh ugh! I'm with those who say - count it :) It would so bug me too...
