11th December: We arrived at church to the distressing news that thieves had taken lead from part of the roof, damaging tiles and stonework in the process. This was on a morning when it poured with rain, so the roof was leaking badly, too. Very sad :(

Imagine photo here!
* It was the Sunday Club Christmas party, and the photo shows the children enjoying some of the activities

Oh Mel, this is so distressing. I know that there are many reasons why people do this, none of them right of course, but it doesn't stop the hurt. x
How sad for everyone to find their Church roof desiccated. I hope the leak was fixed fairly quickly and not too distruptive to your Church services.
Oh how horrid. I hope your church can afford the repairs
Very, very sad.
How sad Mel...hope the leak doesn't affect the Christmas services
Alison xx
Oh ugh :-( one Mtg House here in London has had the roof stolen three times :-(
We have signs up warning about smart water here - the roof bits were painted in the summer whilst we had scaffolding up.
Hope you can get it repaired quickly, maybe with galvanised rather than lead :sigh:
What a very sad photo :( One wonders what drives one to do such...
I just don't understand vandalism like this. Sad, very sad!
Oh that is so disgusting to think people would do that. I hope the leak didn't do much damage.
