Symbol of Hope


We picked up a trail leaflet to guide us round a circular walk in Topanga Canyon. It was really interesting to read about the nature, history and geography of the place :) In particular, we read about a fire that devastated the chaparral (shrubs) some years ago; it was fascinating to compare the vegetation and plant life on our side of the valley with that we could see opposite. The chaparral is growing back and in years to come will match the opposite side once again, but meanwhile wild flowers have had the chance to drink in the rain and reach out to the sunshine - and rather than the blackened ruin of devastation, instead we found instances like that in the photo below: symbols of hope.
