In The Bag

Last week, the talented Sian told us all about a paper bag album she'd made. And it was just as amazingly lovely as you'd expect :)

Not content with just showing us her super project, she kindly shared a step-by-step tutorial so we could make our own, should we wish. And it was just as clear and easy to follow as you'd expect :)

Not content with just showing us her super project and sharing a clear and easy to follow step-by-step, she generously offered to send out some sets of paper bags to anyone who would like to try making an album who didn't have easy access to the necessary supplies. And I was just as keen to take up this kind offer as you'd expect :)

On Tuesday my set of bags arrived, packaged in a very pretty envelope which will be repurposed in some way on another project soon! (I also received a postcard that day - lots of happy mail! - more on that another time though.)

I was so keen to get started that by the end of that very evening I had my book constructed and papered :) I used some of my hitherto lovingly hoarded Crate Paper (Restoration collection) - I got these papers in my first ever Gotta Craft kit and loved them so much that I ordered a second set!

I couldn't resist the add-ons of chipboard stickers and borders, either, which will be very handy now for embellishing my book :) So far I've just added a little to the front cover, but as I fill the book with photos and notes and etceteras I'll be making use of more of these stickers :)

I love the combination of 6x6 and smaller pages! :)

And like Sian, I've left the bags open so I can slip in extras - photos, ephemera, hidden journaling, random items...

I love my little book - thanks so much Sian! I had a purpose in mind for it but that purpose didn't actually involve 'family'; however, the 'family' chipboard sticker so obviously belonged across that top corner that I had to use it so I currently have two possible directions to take this book!! Either way, I will share it when it's complete :) And thank you again! xx

Beautiful papers you've chosen and you're absolutely right that 'family' sticker totally belongs on the cover :o)

I knew these were fast to put together - but I'm amazed by how quickly these are appearing! And would you believe Alison's bags are already in Spain with her too? A lovely choice of papers for a warm and cosy album which just feels so right at this time of year )
