14th October: We invited the local children's librarian to talk to our monthly mothers' group - she gave us lots of information about the various activities available at the library, tips for reading with our children, recommendations of books for different age groups, and lots more! It was so interesting, and her enthusiasm was contagious :) We did have a little distraction with us though....

What a sweet baby, no wonder you were distracted! We're Going on a Bear Hunt was a big favourite here, along with Each Peach Pear Plum and lots of other rhyming texts!

'But Where is the Green Parrot' was one of Mel's favourites when she was little.

The fact that there are now green parrots living in London is one of great satisfaction to me - and a friend & I quoted that bit to each other. DH on the other hand once played 'bear hunt' tennis with another colleague to the bemusement of the rest of the team who obviously weren't the parents of small children
