13th October: School had had their Science Day (as mentioned here), looking in particular at habitats, so there were lots of interesting displays up in each classroom :) This one shows creatures that might live in a rainforest - some brightly covered to scare off predators, others camouflaged to hide from predators; some with long arms for climbing through the trees; some with lots of eyes to keep careful watch - and so on!

Detail: hitchhiker

Mel - I have stared at your 'hitchhiker' from all angles and still cannot work out what it is!

Oh love the rainforest - especially the bugs with many eyes.

I think the hitchhiker is a bug too - looks like a caterpillar.

Missus Wookie is correct - it is a caterpillar :) I parked under a tree in the staff car park, I think he must have fallen from the tree!

The rainforest looks terrific. The kids did a really good job on it.
