10th September: The Boy has been saving up all summer so that he could buy some Warhammer figures. Today was the day that we took him to a local shop to choose them - and very happy about it he was, too!
Warhammer 40k, I remember that coming out.I think I might just have closed my shop then. I used to sell all the roleplaying games and figures. If he's interested in fantasy figures I have quite a few.
Ah I must tell J. about this... he has Tyranids (Warhammer 40K) and Lizardmen (Warhammer)... We have some on order for his up-coming birthday.
I'm sure he'd welcome Helena's help with painting - he's got a squad of Lizards waiting to be done and he's kind-of run out of steam - I think the sheer number of models that he has to do, has rather scared him off! Hopefully the birthday will help to resolve that and get him keen again.
I hope The Boy enjoys his Orks! Well done for saving up... I know they are not cheap!
And Lego.... that must have been a fab shopping trip!
By the way, I haven't been able to leave comments on your blog for a while. We reloaded my laptop and something went wrong with the setup of my blog. However a nice "bloggy geek type" on the Blogger forum gave me some hints and I've resolved the commenting problem now - yay!
Oh this looks like fun! I've missed you in blog land - hope all is well. Great scavenger hunt photos. I'm hoping to pass a book for September later this week if you get a chance to drop by.
Awesome Scavenger hunt pics...LOL at the image I have of you being frogmarched out of The Lowry by two burly security guards!!! Hope The Boy is enjoying his WH figures & yes plaeas...do tell about The Tomboy's shiner?!!! :)
...is what I speak. It describes what I actually say (nonsense, mostly) and how I say it (ie my accent, which is a mixture of all sorts - a bit of North of England, a bit of Irish, a bit of South West England, a lot of just me!) The word comes from my name, Mel, and the fact that I'm one-quarter Welsh. But there's not actually any Welsh in my accent. Go figure...

I miss Warhammer - my nephews were big fans and I really enjoyed helping them paint the models

My son is a Warhammer fan too:) He has orcs, but they are the Fantasy kind, not 40K....I think!
A very expensive hobby indeed!
I remember those Warhammer days - don't miss standing on them when left on the floor!! ;-) xx
