28th August: After attending a service at an *enormous* local church, we went out for an 'American breakfast' :) I had eggs (sunny side up), pork sausages (the round things that look like burgers), bacon (under the butter etc at the back), soda bread toast, pancakes with maple syrup, and iced coffee. And I didn't need to eat again till 7 o'clock that night!!

Soda bread toast? Sounds like my kind of breakfast

I'm American and have no idea what soda bread is! lol Throw in some hash browns or grits and that's what we call a Farmer's breakfast....enough fuel to hold you while you work in the fields :) My guys can eat this kind of breakfast but I've never seen how one can do pancakes and eggs with toast. Glad you enjoyed.

So what are typical English breaksfast like? Not that I would consider this any everyday American breaksfast. I generally have toast.

That sounds a lot Mel I can't imagine eating pancakes for breakfast along with maple syrup but I am sure it was lovely x

I love pancakes and maple syrup, but only once in a while, definitely not regular eats :)
