Why, I do believe my Blogiversary approaches!

While Deb and Carrie were here I happened to remember that my Blogiversary was coming up; though I couldn't remember the exact date, I knew it was towards the end of August because I began it to document my first ever Shimelle class - Learn Something New Every Day :)

Deb asked how many years I'd been blogging now and, you know, I really couldn't remember! I thought it might be two, but it felt like a lot longer.... But I could only remember doing LSNED twice so far. But how could it only be two years? I'd published 1345 posts already!

So I looked it up. Sure enough, my first blog post was on 27th August 2009, just 2 years ago.

Clearly I talk too much.

But oh, what a wonderful just two years it's been! I've made so many lovely friends, a number of whom I've been lucky enough to meet in person now (and several of you are next on my hit list to-meet list, be warned!!) I've taken many of Shimelle's classes (indeed, I've bought up her entire back catalogue, though I haven't worked through all of them yet!) I've taken various other classes and joined in various other projects and challenges. I've taken part in several blog hops, and organised a couple myself. I've won several giveaways, and hosted several too. (I was going to include links to these things but I was overwhelmed by the size of such an undertaking!)

So, in celebration of my second Blogiversary, I'd like to send a little prize to one of my readers :) Here's what I'd like to do. If the winner is in the UK, I'll bring back some American candy and send it to you to try. If the winner is anywhere else, I'll send you some English chocolate to try. How does that sound? And I shall also include a little handmade something-or-other, too :)

Maybe you could be trying some of these! (Probably not the hummingbird food...)

I'll pick the winner on my Blogiversary itself, so if you'd like to enter please leave a comment here on this post before 6pm California time 27th August 2011. (That's 2am on the 28th British Summer Time - I think!) Please just tell me in your comment whether you're UK or overseas, so if you're the winner I'll know whether to pick up some American candy for you before I pack our cases! And if you're overseas but actually you'd quite like to try some American candy as well as English chocolate, you can tell me that in your comment and I'll see what I can do :)

NB: If you live in a hotter part of the world, I may delay sending out your prize till the weather has cooled a little so the chocolate survives the journey better! And even if you don't, there will be a small delay because I can't work on the handmade bit of your prize till I get back to my craft supplies in Spetember :)

PS Will I be seeing you in LSNED2011? :)

Congrats on two years blogging! Funny that you've made 1300+ posts in two years and it took me nearly 3 to get to just 500.

You can leave me out of the drawing. I'll be trying to cut sugar out of my life come September!

How many posts? Sheesh! You rock! JulieJ is funny... but right, #1 never gets picked. LOL. I've been blogging just about as long as you only I started just before Shimelle's first Blogging for Scrapbookers class, took that class to get me moving more on my blog because I was choking prior to that. And... I don't have nearly your number of posts, but I am approaching 400, I think. :)
I'm in Ohio, which of course means I'm in the U.S. of A. I hope you're thoroughly enjoying your trip to CA!!

Can't believe I've only 'known' you for two years! LSNED was my first Shimelle class and I just looked back on my album and I did it in 2008 - I haven't done it again since but have decided to go for it this year, see you in class!
Being a chocoholic, I am always keen to try new and exotic brands whether American or UK ;-)

Happy Blogoversary. I have been enjoying your posts about your trip to the USA. It is interesting to hear what things are different when I take them for granted (since I live in the US). Chocolate is always a good prize.

Well done you! I have been blogging a bit longer than that I think but I haven't even half the number of entries. Too lazy I think. I would love to taste american chocolate but I won't win.

You are such a prolific blogger and we are all so glad you are! I'd be happy to eat some English chocolates but wait until at least mid October to mail as I live in the South and I'd hate for them to melt. I'd love to see a post about which of our candies ya'll are trying that you don't have at home and everyone's favorites.

Because I am a thoroughly sentimental sap I have had a little look through your archives today - of course I have about a million other things I should be doing but I was distracted - anyway, WOW, my how we have changed in two years!

Your blog is one of the first where I have felt I have made a real connection with the author. I have loved every minute of your blogging life in Melshworld and I still look forward to seeing what pops up each day in my google reader. I love your positivity, creativity and inclusitivty - you are a great blogger Mel!

Now, as you know, I had planned to join you again for LSNED, but our September plans have changed and I think I might be better off planning an alternative little project - we will see!

Happy Blogiversary Mel :-)

I will (hopefully) be joining you for LSNED for the first time this year.. fingers crossed I can manage to stick with it despite being on hols for some of the month. Happy Blogiversary!
P.S. I am in the UK and would love some American candy - my Father in law lives in CT so we always stock up when we visit but we haven't been over in a couple of years and I am missing it!
