I don't want to make you jealous or anything...

...but I met Deb Turtle and Carrie on Friday!! How cool is that?! :)

We met up at the Huntington, where we looked round the Library and the Chinese Garden, while chattering away and taking plenty of photographs!

We did a little shopping in the gift shop (The Tomboy kept finding turtles that she was urging Deb to buy...) then we headed back to our LA home. Deb and Carrie played a game of Apples to Apples with The Doctor and The Children (at The Tomboy's insistance; they were very gracious about it!) Meanwhile I was putting the finishing touches to a roast dinner, and beating off Deb's frequent offers of assistance!

Deb had brought me the cutest little decorated initial, which will have pride of place on my mantelpiece back in the UK :)

(See the little turtle?!)

She also brought some cookie dough just ready for baking - The Children and I have just enjoyed some of these freshly baked for our lunch, in fact :) (We did save some for The Doctor!!)

And she brought these sweet little gifts for The Children! They've each named them 'Deb Turtle'... :)

Carrie had put together a fun mix-CD for me, on one of these fabby CDs that looks like a vinyl record, yay! I've listened to it several times already and it will always remind me of this trip to California and this special meeting :)

After the roast, Deb made us some proper Smores, yum :) And she taught The Tomboy how to make marshmallow taffy, to The Tomboy's sticky delight!

We all love Deb Turtle and her Carrie :)

And a certain someone hasn't stopped talking about their visit since.... ;)

I am not jealous, I am so, so happy for you all - what a wonderful experience! I just think it is amazing that through blogging you have made lovely friends and now you are very lucky to have met them in real life!
It looks as though you all had a fantastic time ... somehow I knew that Deb and TB would get on so well! How did The Doctor cope with this giggling gaggle of women?

I'm at a loss for what else to say as I am a bit emotional right now. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Mel.

PS: Tell The Tomboy (and The Boys) I say hello! xo

It's cool in the extreme! You all look like you had a wonderful time together. Which got me thinking about our lovely morning together and then got me thinking that I reckon we are getting closer and closer to some kind of a blogger convention thingy! Wouldn't that be a blast?

I AM jealous - of Deb for getting able to meet you! I just emailed you b/c I'm feeling a bit crushed that I didn't get down to L.A. to meet you.
I also wanted to tell you that there definitely seems to be a mutual admiration society between TTB and Deb Turtle. She couldn't stop talking about her and what a sweetie she is.
