MIMM

Hello, friends - hello, strangers! :) I haven't been around so much lately; I know my Project 365 posts have kept coming, but they're autoposts that I set up in batches - I haven't actually been on the computer much at all. Do let me know if I've missed anything exciting on your blog or in your life! I'll catch up soon, but things are extremely busy (yes, even more so than usual!) and there's a lot going on at the moment, so computer time is rarer than I might like. Everything's fine with me and my little family though, hope it is with you too xx

I did manage to squeeze in an online class - the MIMM of the title! MIMM stands for Me In My Moleskine, and it's a fabulous art journal class by the lovely Kirsty Wiseman. The class itself was a nearly-2-hour long live video, to which we get permanent access for reference afterwards, a 30-page manual of techniques and step-by-steps, and a kit for putting the journal together. A couple of bonuses that made this class extra-special for me were: Jo and Kai turning up too (yay! Especially being able to chat to Jo on the phone about the class and life in general! x) AND - woo hoo!! Kirsty picked a member of the class to win their money back, and I was the lucky winner!! I have to say though the class is pretty darn brilliant and well worth the money I ended up not paying for it!

Here's a quick look at the pages I've made so far:

When the pages are all decorated they'll be joined together in pairs to make pockets, in which I'll be tucking tags with more journaling - I haven't used all the prompts, in the kit; some just don't 'speak' to me right now, others are maybe too private (some just don't fit on the page!!) The manual includes additional prompts for the hidden journaling on the tags and I may add in a couple of the unused ones from the kit, too. That will come when I've finished putting the pages together though :)

I'm loving my book already, at about half-way through! It's so much fun to make, and will be a great keepsake - a snapshot of me right now. If you like the look of it but didn't hear about it in time, it isn't too late - you can sign up here and you'll have access to the video and class forum, and Kirsty will send you the kit, manual etc! I can definitely recommend it :)

I SOOOOO wish my stuff would arrive in the mail so I could get a movin' on this!! I'm holding off on even watching the video so I'm not disapointed I can't start right away! Hoping and hoping it's there when I get home from work tonight!

wow Mel you are really getting on with your journal. Loving your pages, it is obvious you are enjoying this. It's great to be sharing the journey with you and all the girls but I am nowhere near as far into my journal as you - I really must try harder :o)

Keep enjoying your journey.

Your pages are wonderful, Mel. I love the mixed media and bright colors. I used to follow Kirsty's blog but haven't visited there in a long time. I think I should take another look.
