And although it reads as instructions for being a great companion TO me, I'm taking them as instructions FOR me, too :)
This post was brought to you by 52 lists in 52 weeks
PS Yes, The Children had an amazing time at the Doctor Who experience I mentioned earlier - and yes, it was a bit scary! (There were Weeping Angels, one of the scariest DW baddies ever.....) Sadly grown-ups weren't allowed in so all I know of it is what The Children have shared with me, but it sounds like they had a blast reuniting the Doctor with his Tardis, travelling in time and generally saving the world! ;) I wasn't allowed to take any photos while we were in the BBC building, but I did my Week In The Life project last week and started on Saturday so this experience is part of that album via tickets, wristbands, leaflets and recollections :)
In other news, I'm getting there with the packing and The Mother is preparing to take up her house-sitting duties
Bye for now! xx

You must be really excited now,Mel....have a great time.
Great list... relieved to read that you had thought about it both ways round!!
Glad The Children enjoyed the Dr Who experience. Those Weeping Angels were the only Dr Who episode that gave DS nightmares...
How exciting about the trip coming up soon... I hope you have a wonderful time. "See" you when you get there!
Have a fantastic holiday Mel The Doc The Tomboy and The Boy
Hope The Mother and The New Hamster rub along together OK while you are away, and that there will be no wild parties :D
I am so looking forward to your posts from the good ol' US of A! Wish I was coming with you!

Oh it's all so exciting
Safe journey Mel and I am sure you will enjoy every moment.
Hey Mel! we're home, and you're about to take off. Fun to catch up on your posts. Love that the tomboy won a coconut! Will email be the best way to contact you about getting together in August? Let me know,
Rinda
Mel, this page is just lovely.
I am so excited for you, it seems it is more difficult to catch up this week than I thought - but, you will have more time soon!
Safe travels to you all, I hope all luggage travels with you and I think you may get more sunshine while you are away!
:)
Dr Who sounds good, but no adults?! So not fair! I don't think my DD would go in without me, so we'll have to give that a miss. very sad face.
Julie, the website (see Mel's link) says there are times for children to go round with accompanying adults, but that adults won't be allowed in unaccompanied by a child!
I haven't planned any wild parties (yet) but who knows what the new hamster has planned? I'm just hoping he'll curb his Houdini tendencies.
The Mother
Julie - Lizzie's right; there were two different kinds of show. The whole thing was aimed at children aged 6-12. They had 'family' shows (mainly for the 6-9s) in which the parents stayed but were encouraged to remain in the background as much as possible, and 'child-only' shows (for the 9-12s) where parents were ushered out after the first 5 minutes. And in fact, there was so much interest and demand that they put on a couple of extra 'adult-only' shows too! Unfortunately it was only on for a short run and has now finished.
Hope you have a great trip!! Safe travels and enjoy the family!!
Dr Who Experience sounds exciting - those angels scared the pants off me in the series!
Have a safe, safe journey - and enjoy yourselves!
Have a wonderful trip.
