Class of 2011

Today is the day that my little baby boy is suddenly big enough to have reached his last day at primary school. How did that happen?!

This morning the Year 6 class will be leading a special leavers' assembly, during which they'll share favourite memories from their time at the school. They'll have various special celebratory activities throughout the day, they'll write farewell messages on each other's shirts as a keepsake, and then they'll head off in the direction of seven different secondary schools..... And I will cry, and feel proud, and sad, and happy, all at one and the same time!

Congratulations to my The Boy on this milestone in your education. Enjoy today, my darling. You have 7 years of hard work and great achievements to celebrate. Enjoy xx

What a milestone of a day! Yes you will cry, and remember his first day there and all those experiences in between. He will have a fab day and be in very mixed emotions when he gets home. Hope you both have a memorable day!

His class photo is so much more interesting than what we get. Our school took to taking individual shots of each kid and then just putting them all together on one print... and calling that the class photo. :(

This is a great class photo! I wish the schools here took photos like that. Congratulations to The Boy! One of many big steps in life.

What a classy class photo - lovely to have added the names too - while he might know each and every one now by the time he's reached my age the old brain cells will have faded away.

Awww! My boy did the same too yesterday - and his class photos are the same type. So many similarities. Ours was a very emotional day for both the pupils and the parents!
