Rouffignac and My Chickie

'You've made a lot of scrapbook layouts,' he said.

'Um - I know?' I replied.

'But I mean, you've made a LOT of layouts just recently in particular,' he elaborated.

'That's because of Shimelle,' I explained.

'Oh,' he said, and wandered off.

I'm still not sure quite what he was getting at.... But it's certainly true that I've made a LOT of layouts just recently, and that it's because of Shimelle! Here are two which were inspired by her latest 4x6 Photo Love prompt:

While we were in France we were keen to see some cave paintings - the ones at Rouffignac are extra-special, because (a) you get to travel into the caves on a little train, and (b) it has a very large number of paintings and etchings of woolly mammoths. It was an amazing trip, wow! But unfortunately I missed the sign saying 'no photos' and got into trouble...

Yep, that last photo with the glare of light? That was the tour guide shining his torch at me just as I took a photo, having heard the click and whir of the previous shot....

This one doesn't follow the prompt, on account of being a single layout and only having 4 photos on it!! But it was definitely inspired by the prompt :)

Look at the mingled pride, joy and apprehension on the face of my chickie! The reception teacher borrowed an incubator and hatched out 6 eggs, to everyone's delight. The School, April 2011.

PS Just after I took the photo, the chick did a poo on The Tomboy's hand... Charming, no?!

(That blurred out space just before the date is where I wrote the name of the school!)

Thanks (once again!), Shimelle :) And I'm sure what The Doctor meant is that he's grateful to you too, right?

Had a quick catch up, as I've been buried at work. This made me think of Sian's Short One's chicken phobia!
Love your new camera bag. I definitely scrapbook in bursts. And I will do the May wrap up of resolutions and intentions soon!

After our discussion last weekend about my (mis)adventures at The Louvre, I'm going to show this post to The Steve. Then he'll understand that it's not just me that misses signs :)

Lovely pages - and yes, you have been scrapping a lot lately - and beautifully too. Love the chicken one especially - what fun! I never used to like handling any small animals in case they pooped on my hands :( After years of nappies I don't care any more!

I have a pile of sketches to use with my travel photos, and I hope someone can say the same of me soon!

Shimelle is inspiring and your layouts are wonderful. Since my husband is the family photographer, he loves it when I scrapbook his photos. The more, the better!

I'm not sure I would still be scrapping if it were not for Shimelle and her inspiration. Maybe I should send her a bill for my stash?! Great layouts and I love that you've done a one pager from the sketch too. Loving this class so much.
