Project Declutter: An update

First, a quick note - I don't know if it's Blogger again or if it's my laptop, but I'm having difficulty leaving comments on lots of blogs at the moment :( When I click the link to leave a comment, that screen freezes and I can't even close it! I have a nasty suspicion that it might be the computer, ack.... So I'm trying a couple of things to sort it out and hope to be back to full commenting strength asap xx

Back to Project Declutter: I decided that I wouldn't do the weekly updates as I did through May, but it doesn't mean I haven't been decluttering :) (Well, apart from just the one day.... But I did make up for that the day after!) So here's a quick summary of the first half of June:

During the first half of June I have: gone through lots of old craft magazines, keeping a few pages and recycling the rest; chucked out a few freezer-burnt items (note to self: do proper audit of freezer and defrost it!!); set aside some books, games, jigsaws, old clothes, wellies, a 39p lint shaver(?!!), some necklaces and bangles for the charity shop; thrown out an old, lidless tub; sorted the drawer under the bed and got rid of the ancient airbed and sleeping bag; emptied the linen cupboard and got rid of old, holey and/or mismatched bed linen; listed a stairgate and bed rail on Freecycle; weeded out the out-of-date catalogues and telephone directories; used up some past-their-best tomatoes; recycled some torn-out recipes from magazines that I know I'll never try; sorted out and cleaned up some old toys (including putting some through the dishwasher!), some for the charity shop and some for the church toddler group; sent some old clothes and curtains for the school eco-week project; and returned the laptop that's been lurking in our hallway since I stopped doing outreach work for a local secondary school - a couple of years ago.... *blush!*

Phew! So yes, Project Declutter is still going strong :) I know a few of you have been playing along - how's it going?

That's a lot of de-cluttering Mel, I have sorted out a couple of black bags of clothes for the charity bags that come through the door but that's it - must do more! :)

Wow Mel - that is a lot of work! And did the school even remember that you had their laptop???

Ok, you are actually making me want to declutter even though I'm pretty sure I have nothing left TO declutter!

Mel, your decluttering has been an inspiration!! I think I'm going to start on a 'Project Declutter' of my own. I hope you don't mind me knicking the idea!! Keep an eye on my blog for the results, hopefully that will make me do it if I know I've got someone checking up on me. LOL.

I'm full of admiration, but I'm wondering whether you should declutter the decluttering schedule by removing some tasks here and there from it, thus leaving gaps for cluttering?

I won't recognise your house the next time I come over. Unfortunately, I think you won't spot any differences at ours!!!

Don't listen to a word Mise says .... just keep marching forward Mel! ;-)

Well done Mel, yes mine is still going along, today I was sorting books that are in my bedroom. I do have a book case in there but it was so full that I couldn't put all the books away. I now can, well for the time being that is lol

Impressive work! And I love the way you put all the photos together - it really illustrates the scope of your project.
I'm having problems with comments too but only on blogs where the comments are embedded in page instead of new window pop-up. For me, it keeps kicking me off and making me sign in over and over.

Glad to see that you are still doing well with the de-cluttering. I'm still getting rid of things another bagful off to the charity shop today and items being posted for eBay.

Oh nice! You've done super well ... I'm on to doing some more of that de-cluttering this coming weekend ... once you get started I find it's kind of addictive.

Well done on the decluttering, Mel. I've been through all (?) my CKs and other paper craft mags now and most of them will go to the recycling place this weekend. :)

Next is my craft/computer room which is supposed to be turned into the nursery soon... Lots of eBay listing, I think. ;)

Well, I've managed to comment here and also on Jak Heath's blog but when I tried to comment over at my friend Gingeyginge's blog the comment box wouldn't load up for me, I've tried and tried but given up, it was also really slow getting down to her post that I wanted to comment on!!!!!

Could be blogger! again!
