Meeting Ruth

Hooray - looks like those autoposts have reappeared! Here's the post you should have seen this afternoon :)

It all began with Shimelle, really. Doesn't everything?!

Ack - pesky weird shadows spoiling my photos! Ack - pesky laziness preventing me from retaking the pics!

I first came across Ruth's blog via a Shimelle class (how else?!) I was lucky enough to win a couple of Ruth's giveaways and we hence discovered that I live near her Mum! This meant we could arrange to meet - which we duly did, on 22.02.11. The first of many, I hope!

And the layout itself came about because of the gorgeously scrummy Crate Papers (er - yes, they would indeed be from Gotta Craft...), but also because of the scrapping zone I found myself in after the Scrapbooking Day challenges Shimelle set.

I found that I had a fair few offcuts, strips and scraps from my previous layouts, so I had a little go at Shimelle's challenge to create a bits-and-pieces embellishment - mine's quite little and simple, but I rather like it as a first effort, and I don't think it'll be the last time I try something like this :) In fact, both little embellishments on this page were created from tiny leftovers from those previous layouts - and if the background paper hadn't already been so colourful and busy I'd have added a few more pieces, too, so I can definitely see me adopting this idea on a regular basis!

Ruth, my dear, I'm sorry this layout has taken so long to produce - here it is at last :) Hope we can manage another coffee and chat soon! xx

Shimelle, thank you for all the inspiration - and I still have a couple more layouts to share based on your challenges..... In fact, it's all your fault that I need to think about ordering a new album or two to hold all these recent layouts!! But thank you anyway ;)

Woo-hoo! Blogger is nearly mended now - I'm just waiting for some comments to reappear, then everything on my blog will be "normal" (or as near as it ever gets!).

Love the colourful page you made - and the subject matter too. It is good to meet up with people you've got to know, but never met in "real life". I hope to meet some of my blog friends v. soon!

Lovely Page.
Thanks for asking after me Mel. I'm OK just finding it difficult to keep all the balls in the air at the moment. haven't scrapped much for a couple of months either.
