Jardins de Marqueyssac
26th April 2011
Oh, what a beautiful place! Set on a clifftop overlooking the Dordogne River, with views towards Beynac Castle and Chateau de Castelnaud, the location is stunning to start with. The gardens themselves are pretty special too, though. I spent a happy couple of hours wandering past the aviary, the labyrinth and the panoramic terrace, strolling through the two avenues of arches, admiring the waterfalls, climbing to the Belvedere... I loved it all, but the whole time I was looking out for these intriguingly pruned boxwoods. Where were they? Right back near the entrance, of course! Never mind, they were worth the wait, and I enjoyed the search too!
Easter holiday with The Friends, France
This layout meets Shimelle's challenge to use a sheet of patterned paper as a background - and this Crate Paper pp from a Gotta Craft kit (naturally!) was perfect for a garden layout :) Being able to use some cardstock stickers from a previous kit was a distinct bonus!

awesome as usual Mel!
I think that's my current favourite piece of paper ever.
It sounds gorgeous and the beautiful yellow paper really conjures up a sunny spring day in my mind.
That looks such a beautiful place, full of photo opportunities and perfect scrapbook layouts!
So fresh and bright - perfect! I also love the embellie on lower right corner.

The pp background looks great with your photos! I probably would never have thought of that. The combination is great. Love those challenges that make you think outside the box.
What amazing photos and what a super page - I agree about that piece of paper being perfect.
Love this LO! Gr8 papers, love the colours!
I love the way the photos of the topiary and the flowered paper go so well together! Lovely1
I simply love all three LO's in your last few posts...but 'Loved Up Lizzards' is my fave! Great shadow shots & I'm glad you explained or I'd have thought you had something (whatever can I mean?!!) to tell us!!! :)
Very beautiful indeed and how organised are you to have scrapped that page already! :-)
PS .... One day, in our ideal world, we will find the time for emails and skype! :-) Glad to see you are all alive- same here, though busy and out of control - unfortunately! And, I have to start learning how to apply HTML for real - on a daily basis - arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh .... just a bit stressful!
Just gorgeous!! What an amazing looking place ... :)
The photos are beautiful Mel. I love the papers you have used to compliment them :)
