Inspiration: 3rd instalment

It was a very simple detail in Susan Tuttle's article that inspired me to create. I noticed this display on a wall in her craft space:

The circles, colours, and the word 'dream' that you can just glimpse at the bottom of the pic gave me this art journal page:

Similarly, a piece in the background of this shot of Ulla Milbrath's space spoke to me of the four elements:

And even if that wasn't what her piece was about, it still gave rise to this miniature work which I call 'Elemental':

Suzie Millions' little matchboxes got me creating immediately!

Her mention of 'providing people a glimpse through a window' made me think of cutting a window into my box:

And just as she recycles and upcycles items, I used a few bits and bobs that had been sitting around unwanted and unloved to fill the tray of the matchbox:

Teresa McFayden's name on display immediately made me think of the printers blocks by Tim Holtz:

The design of her table, together with a rubber stamp on display on another page of this article, gave me the other detail I wanted...

...to create a simple art journal page:

And then I came to Joanna Figueroa's beautiful quilts :-)

Several ideas fought for supremacy here, but the little patchwork bag won!

Sure, the seams aren't all straight, but I'm chuffed with this bag - I designed it and put it together myself, even managing to line it:

And there's still more to come! Look out for the 4th instalment next!

My you have been busy while I've been absent:) I love your elemental piece. So restful and beautiful to look at.

You did a great job on your patchwork bag! Don't know what chuffed means. Cant remember if it was in your Melish dictionary but I think you have a right to be chuffed if it means something like pleased, excited, or thrilled. xx

I love your art journal page with Psalms 46:10 on it. That's how I've been feeling towards the events with my mom. Thank you for the inspiration. I think I'll have to do up something with that verse on it, as well.
