25th March: I finished putting together some sample designs for a logo for the group my friend and I are setting up at church, before our lunchtime meeting to finalise the details. (We chose the first logo, by the way!) I've mentioned this group a couple of times, and one or two of you were interested and asked about it - well, it's going to be a group for women, mainly mothers of younger children, and we'll meet once a month. It's a chance to drop any little ones off in a creche and spend time chatting with other women, maybe trying out a little craft activity or listening to a short talk from a guest speaker and asking them questions (we have talks about fussy eaters, reading with your child, helping with homework and so on planned already), enjoying a nice cuppa and some cake, and just generally finding friendship and support and having the time to 'be yourself'. Although it's being run by us as members of the church, it's for any women in the area who want to come; we'll have a 'thought for the day' with a Bible verse, where someone will just talk briefly about what their faith means for them practically in some aspect of their everyday life, but it's fairly low-key. We're starting after Easter, and I'm really excited about it! I wish you could all come....

Good morning. Good luck with the group it sounds great. The support such a group can provide is invaluable specially when children are small.

That sounds a lot like the Moms of Preschoolers (MOPS) group that I used to belong to, run by one of the Baptist churches. It was a lot of fun, even for this non-Baptist.
