Blogging Experimentally (I)

Did you notice? Just wondered! Not that it matters if you didn't, I really wouldn't be offended or anything :-)

I decided this year I'd try something a little bit different with my blogging. The Project 365 posts are still coming each day and will probably continue to do so, but I sort of count those separately really. Other than those, I'm experimenting with - *gasp!* *shock!* *horror!* - not. blogging. every. day.

I know!! ME!! Me of the daily posts!! Me who always has something to say!! Me who, despite being fully committed to Blogging Without Obligation, nevertheless usually manages to blog on unless there's a good reason not to!! (Well, I'm not sure I count Ofsted as a GOOD reason, but it was certainly a valid one....)

I'd already decided I was going to try out this novel approach and had skipped a day here or there, just to see what it felt like. And it was fine! Then, of course, last week happened, and I had plenty of other things to keep me busy and offline. I'm still in the middle of sorting out the various repair jobs, as well as struggling a bit with a cold (turns out that the 'tomorrow' I'd been wondering about brought a bad cold. *sigh!*) so I still have plenty enough reason to be blogging less.

But, you know what? Yes, there are times when I do like to blog daily. I can pretty much always find something to ramble on about. But if it doesn't happen, whether through choice or necessity, that's OK. I already knew it was OK with you lol - turns out it's OK with me, too! That's useful to know.

Oh, and it turns out I can manage to post without a photo, too, but that I don't like it so much. So here's a quick pic of an inchie I made recently. I'm trying hard to take its message on board myself....

Right, back to wrestling with quotations for repairs, insurance claims, recalcitrant The Children, a full diary, and that cold! Hope you guys are all doing well. I'll be round to see you soon xx

This is an Experimental Acknowledgement of your Experimental Blogging. If it works out, I may progress to a Pilot Acknowledgement and then a Full Acknowledgement, along with a merry wave to your recalcitrant The Children.

Yes...I'm a little concerned about recalcitrant children as well....and am happy to read your blog whenever you feel like posting.

I am right there with you. I don't beat myself up if I don't blog everyday, although I probably blog 5/7 days.

Yes I had noticed but it's OK still have a reason for visiting your blog cos you still have a piccie and sometimes words to go with it lol
I love mise's experimental - pilot - full acknowledgement what will be the difference I wonder
Don't wrestle for too long especially with recalcitrant (I love that word) The Children

I was just thinking about you and your recent trials and tribulations earlier today ...
Recalcitrant The Children? Surely not?

I may not blog every day, but I blog watch most days! I think that with all you have going on at the moment, it's amazing that you are blogging at all. Here's to half term :o)

I'm right there with you Mel. Blogging for me is another creative outlet and a way to share my world, but it's not my life. We have to take time to make memories and live life (even those not-so-great weeks) so we'll have something to share, right?

I've never tried to blog every day. Just when the spirit moves me.

Hope you are feeling better soon and The Children become more amenable in short order!

P.S. Love the inchie - goes perfectly with my One Little Word! :)

Well, I have such difficulty some times managing three posts a week that I am in awe of anyone who blogs more often. So you are high in my admiration stakes and won't topple from there even if you do post less! I will simply assume you are living more. :)

Super cute little tiny quote, Mel.

I know what you mean about blogging daily - I used to do it and then it became more of a worry and obligation for me. Even now that I don't post everyday, sometimes it consumes my thoughts. Oh well, it's such a fun hobby, I sure don't see myself giving it up any time soon. :o) xo

Can I be totally honest? Sometimes I think it's more of a treat when a blogger I love pops up after a couple of days of not blogging! Yes, I know there is a lot to be said for regular schedules and so on - but I think blogging with your heart is more important than blogging with one eye on the clock.

Hope you are taking your vitamins -and other useful advice my mother always offers in times of stress x

Ooh you've got that cold now, eh? It sprang up overnight and grabbed me before I noticed it coming - sounds like it did the same to you! I hope you are starting to recover - lots of warm drinks of squash are apparently the best thing to treat a cold (according to latest scientific research hee hee - but really!). That and paracetemols anyway!
I love your "inchie" picture - and yes, it is ok not to blog every day... but it's nice when you do!

Blogging is meant to be fun, and you should do only what feels right for you. I had big plans to blog more this year, sadly this week, I've been a tad busy to even read blogs let alone write on mine LOL. But I love seeing your pictures, even if I don't manage to comment on every one of them, I love seeing "I speak Melsh" pop up in my dashboard :)

I've tried to blog daily but it's just too much pressure on me. I figure 4-5 days a week is plenty unless I have a lot to say:)

Great post. I think blogging should happen when it feels right and brings us joy ... it's a nice bit of self-discovery when we realise it doesn't matter if we don't stick to a defined schedule.

I haven't blogged or blog read all week! I've decided I can't do that with blog reading, that little of bit of time it takes daily becomes a big chunk out of this Saturday morning. I had hoped to blog on a regular basis in 2011 but I've been sick and have 3 family members in the hospital soooo yep just blog with the flow of your life :) We're always happy to see your posts!
