Imagine photo here!

4th February: A proud mother moment :-) The Boy brought home a 'special mention' certificate - the school has a celebration assembly every Friday, at which certificates are given out for various achievements and any children with their birthday that week come to the front to be sung to and to tell the headteacher all about it. Now and then any extra-special, out of the ordinary achievements are noted with a 'special mention'. The photo shows too many idenitifying details for me to share it, but here's the reason for the award:
For being a dedicated and caring friend to his buddy
(I should explain that the school has a 'buddy' system where each child in the oldest class, Year 6, is matched to a child in the youngest class, Reception; the Year 6s help the little ones to settle into school and do various activities with them right through the school year. The Boy's buddy arrived at school painfully shy and The Boy has devoted a lot of time and patience to befriending him and helping to build his confidence. As I said, proud mother moment!)

Aw, good for The Boy - I love hearing stuff like this. Carrie participated in a "Buddy" system when she was in school and always loved mentoring a younger child. Well done, The Boy!!! xo

One of the best reasons to be proud is when your child's beautiful charater shines through. Congrats to the Boy and to the Parents that are rearing him well :)

I know how you feel, it is a proud moment to discover that your child has been generous with his time & friendship.

(My grandson was also chosen to be a 'buddy' in his school, he was 9 at the time )
