New Year's Eve

We've never really been the type to party the old year away, to be honest! A couple of times we've gone out to celebrate New Year's Eve, but mostly we've just stayed in quietly, especially since The Children came along.

It's actually my favourite way to spend New Year's Eve - in my own home, with some simple but delicious snacks, watching TV, and just enjoying being with The Doctor. We'll talk over highlights of the year just gone and discuss what we're looking forward to in the year to come. We'll make a few plans, some realistic, some not at all!!

So whenever we're away visiting between Christmas and New Year, we make sure we get back home for New Year's Eve. If people visit us, we try to arrange it so they leave before New Year's Eve. That evening is for us, just us, and that's how we like it :-)

Unfortunately, this time round our plans were scuppered by a nasty fluey bug I caught while we were visiting The Doctor's Parents :-( I spent most of the 30th and 31st December in bed, and there was no way I was going to be well enough to travel home yesterday. We managed to make the journey today, just about, but it wasn't the kind of New Year's Eve we usually have - and definitely not one I want to repeat! Hope you all had a much better time than we did xx

Gosh, hope you are feeling better soon! We usually have a big New Years Eve get together with a group of friends and our numbers were severely depleted by flu this year - looks like it is making a comeback.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year and the best of everything you are wishing for in 2011

I like having a quiet New Year's too. :-)

I did get my camera, I picked out a Nikon D3000. I read the manual but I'm not sure if that helped me too much, ha! I love playing with it though. I'm planning on taking a 6 week class that is starting up soon. Good luck on figuring yours out too and I hope you are feeling better!

Hope you are feeling better! Happy New Year! We had a quiet evening at home. I prefer to stay off the roads knowing the drunks are out on them! :)

So sorry to hear you weren't well, still on the positive side, you've had it and got rid of it, so fingers crossed you'll be on top form to enjoy 2011. Here's wishing you and your family a very happy new year.

Oh, Mel, I'm so sorry you were sick for the beginning of the new year. Let's hope that's it for 2011! We had a quiet dinner with friends and went to see True Grit. Just perfect.

So sorry your New Year was not what you expected and I wish you wellness soon! I'm with you on having a quiet New Year, I don't enjoy large parties for New Years and tend to either not want to do anything (stay home with hubby) or just invite 2 or 3 people over. Take care!

Gosh, I hope you're feeling much better now ... there have been a few things going around - I got sick just before Christmas ... there's nothing worse than being unwell during the festive time of year.
