21st January: A friend came over for lunch to discuss a new group we hope to start after Easter. I made a chicken, vegetable and pearl barley soup, which was more like a stew - very filling, and very yummy :-)
Lovely pictures, the stem is a great angle. What a comfy looking lunch table and the stew/soup is making me hungry :) I also love the sun streaming in, very nice :)
...is what I speak. It describes what I actually say (nonsense, mostly) and how I say it (ie my accent, which is a mixture of all sorts - a bit of North of England, a bit of Irish, a bit of South West England, a lot of just me!) The word comes from my name, Mel, and the fact that I'm one-quarter Welsh. But there's not actually any Welsh in my accent. Go figure...

Yummy lunch indeed and your table looks lovely set out for a feast.
Love your take on Stem. I wouldn't have thought of a wine glass.
I love barley - my family think it is a strange thing to be enthusiastic about! The meal looks delicious.
That does look nice, I love pearl barley! Very comforting :) and a wine glass (with wine in!) is always good :)
Discussions over a meal are always the best (and most productive) kinds of discussions to have.
PS. Your soup looks delicious!! I really love a super thick and chunky soup! :D
