15th January: We visited our friends for the weekend, and although their The Children and ours were different ages, they really got on well together :-) We went for a walk in the afternoon and the kids all had such a good time together!

Detail: Glass

Kids always seem to find common ground to enjoy themselves. I'm really liking the photo of all that glass.

These are great photos, Mel! LOVE the one of all The Children - so cute and curious. And those bottles?!?! Be still my heart...I want them all. :o)

Nice Glass detail photo!
The photo of the children is lovely - they are so busy and intent on the same thing (a lock, a sluice?). I love the muddy trousers - and what is it with Boys and Sticks? I fell over my DS's latest acquisition when I went out to the bins today!

Love the picture of the kids. Just adorable. And the glass detail too.
Thanks for the kind words about my birdhouse. I measured it at 4 inches tall and at its widest point too.

You HAVE to scrapbook that photo of the children...it's evocative, beautifully composed and will be a lovely memory to look back on :)

Both photos are wonderful. I love the depth of field and focus in your photo of the glass. Where did you take it?

Thank you, everyone :-)

Lizzie, it was indeed a sluice they were looking at. And you made The Girl very happy, as she's the one holding the stick - she's such a tomboy that she was thrilled to be called a boy!

Karen, the bottles are part of a collection belonging to the friend we were visiting. She'd arranged them on her windowsill so they were well-lit and as soon as I walked in the room I knew I had to photograph them!
