I made lots of mince pies on 13th December! A dozen with sponge cake topping and two dozen with pastry stars on top. I also made a dozen jam tarts with sponge on top, because The Children don't like mincemeat (and neither does The Mother, come to that!)
And, in the interests of that all-important quality control, I tested one of the pies as part of my lunch:

I have two projects today, making cherry cake and making more mince pies, hmmmm maybe I'll combine a bit of the mixtures together, because those look mighty fine mince pies with the sponge topping!
