Mel, I have often noticed in UK and USA recipes/cooking the grated cheese is far more orange in colour than our tasty/mozzarella found here. What varity is yours pictured here?
Burritos for the first time ever? You are so cute, Mel. They look really yummy! Only difference in the US is that they would have beans inside too. Well done!!! xo
I know your blog from JYC and I'm enchanted with your projects. And I've found that you make 365project - I makeit too, on separate blog, but I love the frame which you use for your photos- you make it by yourself?
Yummm! I like Tex-Mex style food. Burritos, Tacos, Enchiladas... mmm... I love refried beans with mine, but DH and DS won't touch them. Wish they did mini-tins of these (I wonder if they'll freeze?).
Cheese looks nice - my guess is red leicester or double gloucester (which our family likes). Some Cheddar has colour added too, so it's not pale and buttery, but a bit orangey instead. US cheese is much different to UK cheese. I'm afraid we didn't think much of what we could buy in the local supermarket, the year we were in Washington DC for a month. It was really rather ikky... And I couldn't find a cheese grater either - ended up buying a teeny grater designed for chocolate or spices or something... Cheese Sauce seems to be something that comes in a packet in USA, not something you make yourself at home... Just in case my US friends think I'm mean about their food, we found lots of yummy stuff in the supermarket and we LOVED the choice of breads - first time I had bagels or those wonderful soft prezels... mmm...
I don't usually comment on your daily pix posts but had to stop at this one because we have burritos at least once a week - often more than that! Somehow this feels like a blog-influenced menu to me! Rinda
oo as soon as I saw the ingredients I thought these were tortila wraps wish I make with chicken which I love. I have not had boritos may have to try them they look yummy x
...is what I speak. It describes what I actually say (nonsense, mostly) and how I say it (ie my accent, which is a mixture of all sorts - a bit of North of England, a bit of Irish, a bit of South West England, a lot of just me!) The word comes from my name, Mel, and the fact that I'm one-quarter Welsh. But there's not actually any Welsh in my accent. Go figure...

My brother says the U.S. cheese is nothing like ours and if he could smuggle cheddar into the country he would.

We had burritos the other night! I use a blend called Tex Mex for ours - cheddar, monteray jack and a Mexican cheese that escapes me.
