Socks

Well, my washing machine must love me!! Look how generous it is:

It mostly gives me child-sized socks, but occasionally I'm presented with one that would fit The Doctor.

I've mentioned before that I love socks - I've even scrapped about them (and WITH them):

...so I was pleased to spot these cheerful Christmassy ones in Asda today!

They even came with 3 pairs of friends - these bright and colourful ones, and some more sombre plain black (which will no doubt soon get muddled in with The Boy's black socks, as his feet are getting nearly as big as mine now...)

Any other 'sock people' out there?!

At least with different patterns you can work out what belongs to who - we seem to own 4289 pairs of grey ones and not much else

I have some socks that I slip on at bedtime. (Blood doesn't run in my feet and hands most of the time.) these socks make me happy. I'll have to do a post about them. Thank you for the reminder.

i love this post, my machine has always given me odd socks, going way back to when i had to go to the launderette in the east end of london. i love my cupcake socks which my friend gave me last christmas and strangely so far the machine has maintained them as a pair.

My son never, ever wears two socks that are the same. And the more different they are, the better. I think it started as a small act of rebellion when he was at school! His school were very strict on uniform but he could rebel in a hidden kind of way by wearing odd socks! Maybe you could suggest it as a fashion statement to get yours used again!

It's the sock dragons that steal socks. They are only six inches long from their head to the tip of their tail so they only need one sock to make a nest. The problem is that most socks are so scrummy and wram that the sock dragon is soon asleep and snoring - and that's when the fire leaks a bit out of their noses. This scorches the nest and they have to get another sock, one that is different to the last one.... and so it goes

Great post....I thought it was just me who had 'the single sock problem' and I love the idea off the sockdragon...someone to blame at last!!!!!

I love that idea for a layout Mel. We are in the stage where socks and their owners are quite obviously identifiable ... when they are both at school it will be a different matter!

Love your washing machines humour fancy giving you socks and you really love them too. lol what a kind machine he is

Oh I do love the idea of the sock dragon how cute to think that our lost socks are being used by such a small creature as a 6" dragon.

I too bought sock today but boring black ones. but at least I should be able to wear them with a skirt as they are really knee high stocking type.

Totally a sock person over here :) long ones, ankle ones, trainer socks, slipper socks, stripes and spots, every colour under the rainbow :) I think I had those ones with the kitten on you used in your LO! Good to find a fellow sock lover (odd socks or otherwise, wherever the mood takes me!)

Thanks Mel this made me chuckle and I think a trip to our local Asda is in store thanks for the tip x

Socks around here are usually bought so that the brand/style makes them readily identifiable to the owner. The only "fun" socks are the fuzzy ones I wear to bed! Your sock collection (layout) is adorable.

And check out littlemissmatched.com for great inspiration on wearing unmatched socks!

Love the Xmas socks!

I just put the extras back in the wash. I figure they'll get sucked back into the dryer vortex and be replaced with other socks. If I keep doing it, then eventually I will get my own socks back.
