I'm telling you, folks - it's not to be undertaken lightly; it's really something of an extreme sport, akin to lion-taming or free-falling from aircraft....
If you're foolish enough to participate, even after the warnings, then you might find yourself with terrible injuries like the following:
Burn to the finger from the ferocious iron
Thumbnail ripped off half-way down the nail-bed by the vicious vacuum cleaner
Singed forearm, inflicted by the brutal oven
Not pictured: stab marks from savage sewing needles, badly sprained ankle caused by the wild hose of the vacuum cleaner (and The Mother broke her foot when her own vacuum turned on her, my friends) - the list goes on and on....
Don't say I didn't warn you!
This is my post for the 20th day of Blogtoberfest - 20 days and still on track!

Ow!! The household appliances are rebelling!! ;)
I'll take your warning very seriously after reading your post and seeing those photos!
scalds from overheated got water tap, head injury from falling into bath, cat scratches from hooving too closely,............need I go on?
Jo xxx
I think this important public service warning needs to be more widely distributed!!!
Rinda (LOL!)
I totally agree with Rinda!!!! I have suffered more injuries through housework than anything else....which is why I rarely do it these days!!!!
All valid reasons to avoid housework. My cleaning ladies are coming this morning! ;o)
You don't need to persuade me - I'm already right there with you as I am sporting a burn plaster covering the mark left by the inside of a hot oven yesterday! And don't get me started on the industrial accident with the ironing board..
Hope your injuries are healing nicely.
Ouch!! Poor you :( My friends keep telling me that h/w causes headaches....I'm not sure I quite believe them but it is becoming coincidental!! LOL
Those cookies look scrumptious btw!
yikes! i think you should give up now!! ;)
It's a light news day, isn't it? Have just finished my ironing mountain!
I was about to hoover downstairs and tidy up a bit but am now concerned that my health is at risk! Perhaps I should postpone housework for now ;o) xx
I KNOW! That's why my dust, fuzz, fur and cobwebs are softening every corner in my house. Dadgum it... it's too dangerous to clean house! :)
Thanks for the fun post. It's a good thing you're out there to forewarn us. Have a great day. xx
I'll take heed, and do some scraping instead. (although I do find supergule and D/s tape are a biut dangerous)
Well then, I'll just have to stay here on Google Reader and ignore the laundry!
ooooh! I definitely think the housework needs to be abandoned for the sake of your poor hands. Do as my mum does and blame the dust on that "idle cleaning fairy!" xxx
I run into similar injuries when I try to hem things or repair things with a needle & scissors.
I don't think it's worth taking the risk, let's ban housework altogether!
I'm with Debs14 in banning housework - not that I do much anyway. I'm too busy doing craft or blogging.
Mel
Just to say thank you for the comment you posted on my blog. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts

It's not worth the risk is it? ;-)
I think it is much safer just to give up housework altogether .... at least that's what I am always trying to do LOL!!! Just for health and safety reasons obviously!
Sounds like time to give it up to me!
Ooh Mel, the thumbnail sounds awful! I bet that REALLY hurt!!!! I think it may be time to rest!
