On August 20th I took The Children to a little pottery place near where we live. They have a great selection of ornaments, cups, vases etc; you choose the item you want to decorate, paint it, and they then glaze and fire it for you. I did a couple of eggcups while The Boy chose a fish and The Girl painted a snail. Once glazed the colours become much deeper in shade, vibrant and glossy - I'll post a photo of the finished items once I've collected them :-)
The Children then joined in with a 'playing with clay' workshop while I sat back with an espresso:

That is a super cute spotty egg cup Mel :-)
Really cute eggcups! You'll have to let me know where this is my nieces would love it!
Love the colors and designs you used on your egg cups! Now clue me in, what do you use an egg cup for ???
Very pretty! We did this for a birthday party once. My advice? Don't. Definitely one to be enjoyed en famille instead.
Can't wait to see those egg cups once they are fired. I love the design you have painted on them.
Carrie and I took a ceramics class years ago. My favorite part was the sculpting, and she loved the painting!
I love places like that. We had one in town for a while and I found it very relaxing.

I'm kind of loving the pastel shades of the 'pre-cooked' egge cups, but I'm sure they'll look amazing afterwards too!
those look great!
Such beautiful little egg cups!
