Versatility

Many thanks to Lois, who passed on to me this award:

My blog tends to be a bit of a mish-mash of whatever occurs to me at the time. It's a place for me to collect together my Project 365 photos, of course; it's a handy location for sharing craft projects; sometimes it's somewhere to record thoughts and details of a particular photo or something The Children said; it's also a way to share recipes (via links to my recipe blog) and little snippets or videos that I've come across and enjoyed. If it has a 'theme' then I suppose it would be 'craft', but with a strong emphasis on 'family' too. Really though it's fairly random!

I always thought that was because of my butterfly brain, my wide-ranging interests (I want to try EVERYTHING!) and perhaps a lack of focus. But no, it's actually because I'm versatile!! Yay me!! Thanks Lois ;-)

So, as is tradition, here are some random facts about me. Stuff I haven't already told you. Um.....
  1. I have a tiny birthmark just above my left hip. It doesn't look like anything in particular though.
  2. I don't have a fear of flying exactly, but I really, really don't like the take off or the landing. I don't get worked up beforehand and I'm fine while we're in the air, but those parts of the journey are not good.
  3. I'm not keen on bunches of flowers. They look beautiful, and if someone gives them to me then I always appreciate the thought very much, but it saddens me so when they wither and die - I'd actually prefer not to have them at all. The Doctor knows this and is appreciative of the fact!
  4. I haven't eaten crisps in about 6 months. I used to be able to eat 3 packets a day (not that I did that very often!) but now they just make me think of oil and I can't face eating them. I'm encouraging this in myself, as I fear that if I give in and try one I'll remember how much I like them.
  5. Once at school a friend and I swapped the poems we'd written for homework, as we were each too shy to read out our own in front of the class. Mine, in her name, then went on to win a competition....
  6. I've watched the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice about 17 times. All 6 hours of it. I'm not exaggerating.
  7. I've never been any good at handstands or cartwheels but I could do a headstand for *ages* without falling down. Maybe I still can - I haven't quite dared to try!

You know how much I love random! I'm very impressed with the crisp eating - or should I say non crisp eating - fact. That would be torture for me :)

I'm with you on the flying thing...I;ve been known to cry during take off! (what a wimp?!!) Another interesting list...love getting to know even more about you!

I'm not a regular flyer so the novelty is still reasonably strong for me .... but there is no way I could do a headstand!

I'm with you on the flying. I do it because I need to get somewhere and driving is not practical, but I'd much prefer the car! Like you, I'm OK once we're in the air, unless there is turbulence and then I'm not a happy camper!

I'm still working on mine. I'm happy that I can still do a cartwheel, even though the age of 50 is just around the corner!

Hiya I nominated you for an award on my blog last week, so you are collecting them at the moment! Congrats! I am not keen on flying and always have to check that my life jacket is under my seat (not sure why exactly!)also ok once I am actually in the air though.
