Top Ten Tuesday: music for the kitchen

My current go-to CDs for when I'm doing some cooking - some more for when I'm in dancing mood, and some for singing along to (though those two things aren't mutually exclusive, of course!), and some just for having on in the background...

The Black Eyed Peas - The END
Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters
The Pigeon Detectives - Wait For Me
Muse - Black Holes & Revelations
Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones
The Saw Doctors - If This Is Rock and Roll, I Want My Old Job Back
The Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business
The Feeling - Twelve Stops And Home
Editors - An End Has A Start
The Black Eyed Peas - Elephunk

Do you have special 'kitchen music'? Or is it just me?!

PS Many thanks for your kind birthday wishes :-) I had a lovely day - I'll tell you more about it when I have time for a proper catch up!

We share the same musical tastes - the only problem for my family is that for me, they are also my top ten 'singing along with' music. You should hear me do my own cover version of Muse ... or maybe not ...

I have kitchen music (even have a built in specially sized CD shelf), scrapping music, car music..

Great choices. I have a lot of these too.

Our musical tastes are at completely opposite ends of the spectrum! Radio 2 in my kitchen.

Happy birthday Mel, hope you had a special day.

Black Eyed Peas is a big one on my list too, it's great cleaning/cooking music x

You're definitley a Peas girl, and they work here, too. We're really liking Michael Franti & Spearhead these days.

Yep, kitchen music, laying on the sofa on a Sunday when they're out at footie music -scrapping music, car music, life would be awful without it. Whenever I'm down it picks me up:-0.like all your list too.

We have similar taste in music. There is kitchen music in my too :) While I cook I listen to the Pop Hits channel on the TV in our family room. It's just enough variety that everyone in the family enjoys dinner prep.

kitchen music is the best for singing along with! I can't say I have listened to any recently, my kitchen is too small for a sound system these days, but I've always had a pretty "old" taste in music - 60s, 70s and 80s songs, which are also good for housework!
