I took The Children and The Mother to see Toy Story 3 on August 5th. I think she was more excited than they were! It was a lovely film, and I did have a tear in my eye a couple of times, but I managed to hold it together..... (The Children didn't get a FilmFeast or any candy floss, by the way. Neither did The Mother.)

For dinner that night I cooked up some Bratwurst sausages with onion gravy and bacon bits, mashed potato and veg. (You may notice the absence of onions on my plate - this is because I don't much like them, and made sure they all ended up in The Doctor's portion.) It was an experimental recipe which turned out pretty well, though I won't bother with the bacon next time - it was lovely but not really necessary, the sausages and gravy had enough flavour of their own.

Surely there was popcorn at least?!

The Mother says she paid for herself and did not get too overexcited. The children were allowed popcorn, but Mel was afraid I'd make a mess so banned me. Amanda, I think 'foreigners' call it cotton candy - spun sugar on a stick - not what you need when the children are hyper anyway.

I had to Google "candy floss" and The Mother is right - it's "cotton candy" here. :o) I'm still not sure what "film feast" is though...

Glad you all enjoyed the movie. Sounds like a fun time! xo

Yummy sausages and mash!

We went to see T.S.3. I blubbed like a baby at all the "Andy growing up and leaving home" bits... what will I be like when my own DS leaves home!! I didn't cry at films, until DS was born. He has turned me into an emotional waterspout. It's all his fault. But I love him anyway.

I'm waiting for it on DVD, as I thought DS was a little too young for the whole cinematic experience.
