On August 1st we went shopping for some new luggage, seeing as some of our old cases are pretty much falling apart! We figure it would be better to buy one suitcase at a time and spend as much as we can afford so we get something good quality, rather than a set of cheaper cases that may only last for one or two trips....

And I had a choc chip cupcake for lunch :-)

took me too many broken bags to learn that lesson - that suitcases are one area where it is worth paying more.

Do you have a fab rainbow or other creative thing so you can spot your one on the luggage carousel?

Yes, you get what you pay for! (she said, sounding just like her mother..)

I've found that even expensive luggage has a hard time surviving airline flights. My first flight with a brand new American Tourister carry-on size (but I checked it) came off the carousel with a zipper pull (all parts) completely missing - which rendered the front pouch wide open and utterly unusable. I could not figure out any way to get a new zipper piece on there, so I eventually (after multiple trips holding the pouch shut with safety pins) sewed the damn thing shut. I think it's an evil conspiracy between the airlines and the luggage manufacturers to keep us buying more!
