Action Woman

Yep, I'm well and truly a convert to these action things :-) After dabbling with them a bit already, on Wednesday I returned to the CoffeeShop site I'd bookmarked a little while ago. I found LOTS more interesting and fun effects:

I liked the Denim ones in particular because I had a feeling they'd help me to bring out the gorgeous blue eyes of The Girl - and I knew just the photograph to try it on:

I also liked the various different 'web photo' finishes, drop shadow, frame and rounded corners:

And the clever 'magic sunset', which turned an ordinary daytime shot into a soft, warm sunset:

And then yesterday it occurred to me that I should maybe look at some of the effects already built into PSE!

Yep, I'm a convert - just call me Action Woman... ;-)

Action Woman .... very catchy! That sunset action is quite remarkable, did you tweak it as you went along or is that just how it ran?

I'm not going to say TG is the cutest little button in those photos ... no, not me, she didn't hear those words from me at all ;-) Is she letting her guard down by posing with flowers .... where is the pirate get up?

Amy - I tweaked the sunset very slightly; the action comes with the instructions to adjust the settings, for example by painting out the blue sky (as otherwise the red looks 'muddy'), and increasing or decreasing the red and/or the glow :-)

Oh, and the pic of The Girl was taken for a layout I had published a few years ago - she's actually wearing a skirt in that photo as well as holding flowers - she looks back on that photo with disgust!!

A skirt? And flowers? And she let you put it on your blog? That girl deserves a £1 a week rise in pocket money! Great photos, and thanks for sharing all those special effects. I think I need to get experimenting!

I do actually think you're Action Woman, you seem to fit so much into your days ;) However, the actions you're talking about are fantastic! I got some a little while ago and find I have my favourites that I use over and over. I've recently got Lightroom 3 and now I'm starting to look at the presets for that too (like actions for PS and PSE).

Loving the sunset action. I know I like to do the individual steps by myself a lot of the time, but boy, that's awesome!
