A Prayer

Dear Lord,

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I cannot accept,
and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill today because they got on my nerves.

Help me to be careful of the toes I step on today,
as they may be connected to the feet I may have to kiss tomorrow.

Help me always to give 100% at work:
12% on Monday,
23% on Tuesday,
40% on Wednesday,
20% on Thursday
and 5% on Friday.

And help me to remember, when I'm having a bad day and it seems that people are trying to wind me up,
it takes 42 muscles to frown,
and it only takes 28 to smile.
(But it takes just 4 to extend my arm and smack someone in the mouth!)

Lovely, Mel. A lot of that was appropriate at church today. And we needed muscles to carry bags of "cleared out loft" stuff to the church charity shop. Oh, and I walked barefoot in town because of the blisters from the new high heels!

Thank you for commenting on the cones.

good one - not seen it before.

You asked about the stunned nuthatch - yes it sat for a while and then flew away OK.

this made me smurk. love the idea of dividing up the week and giving less on a friday. wonder if that'll work in my new job? do you think it's dreadful of me to think that way after only 1 week back?

LOL! That's exactly how I felt this morning when DH and I had "miscommunication" about the children and their schedules today.
