Control

Fluid made me think of water, but I've done a lot of experimenting with photographing water recently while trying to learn about shutter speed. (Must get round to posting those photos!) And I wanted my journaling response to dictate my photograph, rather than the other way around. Quite quickly I realised that my reaction to the prompt was to think about how my plans might need to be fluid, how I need to be flexible, and how I need to let go of control sometimes.

I like to know what I'm doing. I like to have things clearly laid out in my diary. It's not about routine as such, and it doesn't preclude spontaneity, but I like to have a plan. I am list-woman. I have a diary with a week to view on one page and a sheet of lined paper for notes on the opposite page; both tend to be full! But often, I need to add arrows or cross things out or squeeze things in - plans need to change. They can be fluid. I don't have to be in control of every detail and have everything mapped out.

I think that's OK.

I'm still exploring that idea though.

(By the way, if you've spotted your name in my diary and you're wondering why, it's from when I was picking the winner of my All About Me blog hop giveaway!)

What a good interpretation of the word. I often find that diary plans need to be changed too.

Great take on the prompt!
I think all us mums are like swans on a lake, calm and serene to look at but frantically trying to stay afloat under the water. A peek at any of our diaries will prove how much we have to pack into a day!
