A thank you and an invitation

Thanks so much for your lovely, supportive comments after the sad death of The Hamster. The Children were saddened but are bearing up OK; we plan to hold a little funeral service this afternoon. The Girl has already asked if we'll be getting another, and while there'll never be another Smoky I'm sure our next hamster will have a character all of his own - I can't imagine not having a hamster in our household now, having owned one after another since I was 20!

I also wanted to let you all know about a house party happening tomorrow - be sure to pop back to see what I've built, and to find out who else has been busily constructing :-) Here's a sneak peek of mine:

Can't wait to see everyone else's! :-)

Ahhh... I missed the post about the demise of The Hamster! He was so talented and cute... I'm sure he will be missed.
It's funny how a home seems empty when our favourite pet has gone, even if he was only small. I cried daily for a while when Apples, my favourite guinea pig died. She was just a little person, but she had a big personality and a big, happy smile. I missed her a lot.
We have three "Winnies" now and love them all... our little Apples is buried in the garden, where the prettiest flowers grow. Seeing them makes me smile...
It is good to have a new pet friend though - it helps us to move on and remember the best of our old friend, without feeling too lost.

Looking forward to the Blog Party tomorrow (tonight!). I'll be online in the evening, so I'll see your house then - look out for mine too!
