Self-portrait angst

Firstly, a quick note to let you know that Blogger is having difficulties accepting some of my comments today - I have been visiting your blogs, sorry I haven't been able to tell you all so!

I got my hair cut today - which means I needed a self-portrait for my Project 365. (It's also a good opportunity to show you the lovely hair bow I bought recently!) But, as those who've followed my blog for any length of time will already know, I hate having my photo taken... Quite why I decided to include these self-portraits I don't know, but having begun, I need to continue. Here's a look at the angst I inflict on myself every 6-8 weeks:

OK, don't mind this one - can't see my face, which is a bonus! But you can't really see my haircut, either.

Bit better - you can see the hair now, and still not the face! ;-)

Now I'm getting a bit braver - peeking out from behind the camera - but not actually looking the right way...

Not sure quite what I'm looking at here!! I like the sudden flash of sunshine through the front door bringing out my hair colour though :-)

Ah yes, the flattering cross-eyed look. *sigh!*

Hooray, finally looking in the right direction! And a coy little head tilt to show my shy and retiring personality ;-)

Still not sure if I'm getting there - the photo's not so bad, but again, can't properly see the haircut!

Hey, look how brave I've gotten!! Are you impressed? I'm proud of me :-)

You'll have to wait till I post my Project 365 for May 12th (which will be towards the end of next week) to find out which photo I chose...

PS Apologies if the formatting of this post is a bit funny. I don't know if it's because of the new laptop (though not quite sure why it would be) but Blogger's doing slightly odd things today!

I'm having trouble leaving comments too... must be Blogger. You crack me up, though... love your "shy and retiring" statement. Great photos...ALL, but the last one was the best. Love to SEE you. :) Have a great day!

Hooray ~ we *see* you! And the strange thing is, you look like someone I know IRL ...

So - the haircut photo as promised!
As Bruce Forsyth might say 'Nice to see you - to see you, nice'
I love the revealing sequence, very clever!
It's not just you that Blogger isn't liking, or the new laptop, it's playing up for me too.

Love to see how your thinking progressed on the self-portrait shoot. Second from the bottom is definitely my fave!

I loved scrolling down to see what bit of you was going to appear next on this! Nicely done. And good to "see" you too

Yes, you get a prize for bravery. I almost never take a self-portrait and even more rarely post one. You've got some good ones, but I vote with Rinda for the next-to-last one. Love your beautiful red hair; several of my nieces and nephews got that gorgeous red from my husband's side of the family, but neither of my kids did.

A great series of photos - and I specially like the one of that friendly looking woman at the end - don't know who the others are though - can't be Mel, because she's brave!
Your hair is such a lovely colour, Mel. Looks good with the soft turquoise-blue hair bow and the nice tidy haircut (!).
It's so nice to see your face...
I actually managed to take a rather good "self portrait" last summer - no double chins, no crinkled up eyes, no "big nose shot", but a good, smiley, looks-like-me photo!
A bit like your final picture then - it's great!

Great job on the photos! I am taking a self portrait on the 20th of every month as part of my 365 project. It's become a sort of experiment in 'how can I take my portrait without having my face involved'

What a lovely colour your hair is, and how fortunate that your camera isn't large enough to obscure it.

Mel, blogger has been tricky for me too over the past couple of days - I've not seen posts on my dahboard and had trouble commenting.
Now, you poor shy thing ..... hehehehe, great shots and I love the 'do' - the bow was a great choice of colour!

Very impressed to see you, the whole you, on your blog - though of course I've been seeing the real you for a while now. There's no need to be so shy. I keep telling you that you're a pretty lady.

Especially with your turquoise bow :)

Not sure what's going on with blogger, I've had a few people tell me they tried to leave comments but couldn't. Love the photos and the fact that you've "overcome you shyness" so we can see you properly! I also HATE having my photo taken but every now and then force myself to give in ;o)
