The Year 6 pupils have been doing their SATs - we weren't one of the schools which boycotted them! Now that the tests are over we're able to have a lot more fun with the curriculum; on May 17th I looked at the maths behind some magic tricks. In the card trick above I correctly identified the card one pupil had secretly chosen :-)

Still eating my way through the nut-free pesto! Lunch was sandwiches of left over roast chicken with cucumber and pesto on granary bread:

Kids just love 'magic' don't they? I bet they all loved that lesson. Nice to be able to get a bit of fun back into the day once the SATS are over. I know our teachers were thrilled when the Year 9 SATS were stopped - the students were pretty happy too!

Lunch looks yummy - again :-)

Yes, I'm sure the magic tricks lesson was a big hit - and that Mrs Mel could be so smart! LOL :-)

Nearly all the fun had been taken out of teaching (due to testing) by the time I retired. I don't think it improved the test scores at all; in fact I would argue otherwise! Both your photos are great!
