Still partying...

This party's still going strong over at Shimelle's! Those challenges keep on coming, but what with needing to eat and sleep and go to church this morning, I haven't managed any of today's yet. I may not get to them, either, as The Mother is coming over for dinner and I have some work to do this evening :-( I'll see how it goes - and look forward to catching up with everyone's poor neglected blogs over the coming week!

I really liked the look of the challenge to scrap two 4x6" photos, and had a pair of photos I really wanted to get onto a layout. I love the look of sheer joy on The Girl's face in the second pic and that gave me my title :-)

I kept it very simple (as is my usual style!) The title is part rub-ons, and part letters I traced through the negative of a sheet of chipboard letters, trimmed and mounted with foam pads. I added a chipboard frame with a scrap of ric-rac tied to it. Other than that it's just the photos and two strips of ric-rac!

Then I returned to the idea of using up your scraps. I'd tidied everything away just before this challenge went up yesterday, but I got out a scrap of paper, a piece of card, some ric-rac and a couple of stickers left over when I made the Nana layout earlier, and turned them into a quick card:

All of this was last night, but I waited for daylight today before photographing them!

Today I returned to the printable coffee cup book kit. I've done very little to it, just trimmed out 'windows' wherever there was a frame and stuck my photos behind (can't believe how many photos of cups of coffee I seem to have!!) I sort of forgot to read the instructions so I don't think I put it together in the way that was intended, but never mind... I may come back to this and decorate the cover, add some ribbons and embellishments inside, maybe some extra journaling and so on, but it took me long enough to get this far and I need to go peel some potatoes now! So here's the book as it is at the moment:

And now for those potatoes...

I think I'm a bit partied out over here! I'm reading blogs instead of sticking. You've got so much done, I'm very impressed :)

Oh my goodness! How busy you have been and how fab is all this work.
Am now deeply ashamed at the lack of extras I have done on this class - I must try harder!
