Are children allowed at this party?

Mummy, what are you doing?

Well, darling, this weekend Shimelle is doing an online scrapbooking party.

I don't understand...

OK, it works like this. Every now and then over the weekend Shimelle puts a challenge on her blog, and we can make a project to show her and some people will win prizes. This layout I made with the photo you took of Nana is called a scraplift - look, here's the layout Shimelle made, can you see how mine is a bit the same and a bit different?

Oh, yes! Can I have a go? Have you got any spare photos?

If you like, sweetie - here's a photo of you with a dog, would you like to make a layout of that?

Yes please!

(And she did...)

That was FUN, Mummy! Are there any more challenges?

Well, there's one here about using up all the scraps left over from what you've done so far, but I just tidied away all my scraps!!

Oh, but Mummy, I've got lots of hama beads left over on the floor and some card and things, can I have a go?

Sure you can, honey - just as long as you pick up those hama beads when you're done!

(She loves her 'hammer' beads....!)

Mummy, please will you put my layouts on your blog so I can enter the competition too? And please will you tell everyone how I made the happy birthday? I made the letters out of clay. Tell them it has to be air-drying clay, because you can't put hama beads in the oven. Then I pressed lots of hama beads on top and stuck it onto the card. Will you tell them?

OK, darling, I'll do it tonight once you're in bed - IF you tidy away the rest of the hama beads. Deal?

*sigh* OK Mummy...

Do tell The Girl that her work is terrific! She obviously has talent ~ where did she get that from, do you think??!

If cuteness is a judging criteria, The Girl wins hands down! And forming all those letters from clay and pressing beads into them - that is a lot of work!

Tell them they are BOTH great! Both layouts show very creative ways with lettering. (I might even pinch the idea of putting Hama beads in clay!) Well done to both, Nicky

how super cute is that? I hope my little girl keeps creating, even though mine's only 2 she kept trying to copy me today, cutting paper and sticking stickers etc!
I love your daughters 'hammer' beads project! I miss playing with those beads!

I love to see kids scrapbook, our local store(before it closed) used to have regular crops for kids and it is agreat creative outlet not to mention good writing practise!

TG is going to follow in her mother's footsteps and I'm pleased she has informed us of such an important day which is fast approaching. I hope her mother has all things under control in that department??!!

Utterly excellent. i hope you are sharing some of your classes with The Girl. Wouldn't she like to look back on her When I Grow Up or I Have to Confess when she's older?

I think there should be a special "under 16's" prize.. and maybe DH deserves it!
Lovely work... tell her I hope her birthday will be fab (maybe she'll get some more "hammer" beads).

Brilliant! A chip off the old block, eh? And if she really has caught the bug you'll use up your stash too!
