And the party's over!

Final challenge is up on Shimelle's blog. I haven't managed to do all of them, but I did have a little go at a couple of digital challenges this evening. I'm not a digi scrapper (though I'd love to be! It'd never replace paper scrapping for me, but I'd love to be able to use it as an alternative method! Any chance of a digi class please Shimelle???) Also, my laptop is v-e-r-y s-l-o-w when running PSE, so it takes much longer than it should. We've got a new, more powerful computer for upstairs, I shall have to install PSE there I think - until I can persuade The Doctor that we need a new laptop, anyway... ;-)

One of the challenges was on the theme of 'Happiness is...'; it didn't have to be done digitally, but Shimelle provided a free downloadable page template for us to use if we wanted to so it seemed like an ideal opportunity to have a go. Here's my effort:

The papers were all free downloads, I'll have to add the credits later because I've now unplugged the external hard drive which holds them so can't look them up, sorry... *Edited to say: they were from a Cherie Mask collection called All Twitterpated, and I think came from 2 Peas* I'm thinking maybe I should have removed the paint splashes (they clash a bit with the hearts on the background paper), but overall I'm fairly happy with it as an early effort :-)

The other digi challenge that interested me involved using Photoshop brushes. I had a little play around with a photo of my (sadly now empty) bottle of gingerbread syrup, adding a lovely swirly brush in the corner, a digi WordArt title and a bit of journaling, to make a very simple layout/embellished photo/thing...

(Again, credits will follow, so sorry I forgot to make a note of them at the time! *Edited to say: The brush is by Tia Bennett and is called Birthday Love, and again came from 2 Peas; the WordArt file is called rpenn_expressyourself-aperfectday if that helps!*)

I shall probably print this at quite a large size and mount it onto some white cardstock, maybe add a little extra something or maybe just keep it very simple, and pop it into my album.

So that's me done! There were a couple of other challenges I would have liked to try if I'd had more time, but I need to call it a day now. The 'real world' calls. I need to remind my family what I look like - and I need to sleep! But oh boy, has this been a blast :-) Thank you sooo much, Shimelle! xx

Mel! I can't keep up with all of your posts in the last 12 hours!!!!

These are great digi pages and I really like what you have done in both of them. I love the card you have made and I really like the colours you used in the page about TG.

I'm afraid I have to partake in the evil occupation of housework after the weekend - hopefully I'll manage a blog post at some stage today :-)

Hi Mel ~ I have been busy running around and not blogging and/or reading other blogs much over the weekend. Just catching up on all of your beautiful work! You've been busy as well. Nicely done. xo

This is really good. The colours and fonts (and the subject matter!)

Loving both of your digi attempts! Great job for a novice - looks like you know your way around PSE just fine!
