On April 8th I made some honey ice cream, based on a recipe I'd seen in a magazine somewhere. It turned out OK, though the texture was a bit softer and grainier than other ice cream recipes I've tried, and The Family weren't over-keen, so I won't add it to my recipe blog. But if anyone's interested in giving it a go, the saucepan in the background contained 400ml semi-skimmed milk, 150ml single cream and 50 ml double cream, which I warmed gently with about 150g Greek honey. (Greek honey has quite a strong flavour so if I was using a different kind I might have used more.) Once the honey had all melted and been mixed in, I allowed the mixture to cool before freezing. (That step can be done in the usual two ways - in an ice cream maker, or just in the freezer, being taken out and beaten regularly as it freezes.)

And I didn't eat any of it that day as it hadn't frozen yet! I did have a big bowl of different kinds of melon and a few pieces of pineapple, though :-)

My Mum used to make ice-cream but I've never tried, it does sound like it would be a good base for any flavour though. Gorgeous fruit!

Don't know that honey ice-cream would be my thing as I'm not a huge honey fan. I've never tried making ice-cream but am told it's fairly easy. Fresh strawberry ice-cream may be one to try :o).
Fresh fruit salad is one of my favourites and if you get sweet melon, delish!

I would bet anything that the ice-cream would taste amazing with some Crunchie Bars mixed into it :)
