And on April 6th, the groceries arrived (hooray!) But why oh why do they have to use so many carrier bags??? I always take my own when I shop in-store, and I know you can give bags from a previous delivery back to the driver, but each item does not need its own individual bag!! *sigh!*

Today's lunch was a tuna salad, using the baby leaf salad just delivered :-)

Totally agree on the number of bags they use, and 1/2 the time they need'nt have bothered as loads of items are loose (Tesco's worst for this), whereas Asda will put things like the big bags of loo roll, which come with a handle, in a bag all by themselves.

Yes, that annoys me too. Tesco put one bottle of hairspray into one carrier once! Such a waste!

I used to have the same thing when I did Tesco online shopping - a number of items in their own bags.
Still, it's sometimes nice not to have to go into the shop to do your shopping :o)

We use our own bags here and I've been having the same thing for lunch this week but with mini roma toms and avocado and lebanese cucumber as well .... yummy!

My jaw dropped when I saw the number of plastic bags in your photo. I was SOOOOO happy to read that you normally use your own carry bags - I do too! We either recycle the bags we do get, or use them to line trash cans throughout the house instead of buying trash can liners. Lunch looks yummy and so fresh!

That's a lot of shopping to put away! I do take my own bags; but I'm happy to use the shop ones for lining our kitchen bin with.

I've never done grocery shopping online before. Where I live there are grocery stores all over the place! One on the corner very close to where I live (a large supermarket at that). And you're right - that is a crazy amount of bags!

I totally agree with you about the bags, so many!Mind you we can have a few when we do a shop when all the boys are back...takes all my collection of bags to house it all.

They do that at our stores too. I have to insist they put more in the bag, especially when I bring my own. My bags hold 30lbs of stuff, but they think 2 boxes of cereal is enough. I've taken to telling them I'll do my own bagging.

Yummy! I'm jealous you can buy groceries online. I would TOTALLY do that. But the bags, I would definitely be annoyed.

Hmm.. it's true that they do use a lot of bags. At least we can give them back for recycling. I also use some of my carrier bags as "recycling bags" in the kitchen, to collect the stuff for the recycling bin outside. So, either way, they get recycled!

Yuuummmm you eat such nice food! Why does it seem that you have nicer food than me? I eat tuna salads, but somehow your photo salad looks much yummier than my real one!

know what you mean about the bags, I got Tesco the other week and requested no bags so they delivered it in bread baskets which they emptied onto my kitchen table much better idea!
