When The Doctor's away I'll often watch a film in the evening. This time I worked my way through the Lord of the Rings trilogy, reminding myself of just how good it is!
And to expunge the memory of the ready meal I made myself a tuna pasta bake for lunch. Much nicer than the one I had the previous day :-)
(There's lots of flexibility with the ingredients of this recipe. Miss out the olives, use bacon instead of tuna, add some mushrooms, etc, etc! But here's how I made the version above: Cook enough pasta for 2 people. Drain it while it's still a bit undercooked. Mix with a tin of tuna, some halved olives, a small goat's cheese cut into chunks, and enough passata - sieved tomatoes - to coat. (Tinned tomatoes would also work.) Tip into an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over grated cheese if desired. Bake in a hot oven for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!)

I'm not a fan of LOTR but tuna bake features regularly at our place :-) It looks lovely.
Wow, first in the comments. Love the look of your pasta bake, will have to try it.
I'd have to give Lord of the Rings a miss - not for me I'm afraid. :)
Ok, 2nd ;) Amy's post wasn't showing at the time :)

Jo xxxx
love Lord of the Rings movies - until a year ago I lived in Wellington, NZ just down the hill from the tree they hide under in the 1st movive when they first meet the black riders!
LOVE TTT (:
the first time I watched LOTR was this
movie and I ended up going back to
the theatres 9 more times XD
My husband and daughter are the fantasy fans, but I must say the DVD is beautiful--a work of art even. And the pasta looks great.
The recipe sounds great (and much better looking than yesterday's meal presentation [wink]) but I'd have to change it up...I like the idea of using bacon. I've never been a fan of warm tuna, although I love it cold in a salad.
Enjoy your Friday, Mel!
your tuna bake looks yummy!
I'm not a LOTR fan either but I do like the look of the tuna bake :)
