Scrap Your Day: Layout 2 of 12

I found my ink cartridge, yay!! So I could print off my photos from February 25th and make the layout :-) I'm finding that I have so many photos that I want to include that I just adapt the sketch in Shimelle's notes to fit as many pics as possible, which doesn't leave any room for embellishment! But it certainly does tell the story of my day.

The sketch had provision for four larger photos but I decided to go with just two and fit in more small ones instead; I went with these particular two because Poirot was a nice accompaniment to my day, and I made the cake as part of our celebration of The Doctor's good news, so it will be nice to remember that too when we look back at this page :-) [By the way, the good news was a promotion to senior lecturer!] And I did manage to take another pic of myself to include!

Once again, I've used foam stamps to add the '25' onto the journaling block and then written the name of the month, copying Ali Edwards' handwriting to do so. Unfortunately my black journaling pen turned out to be running out of ink so I had to go over the top with another black pen, and of course it doesn't *quite* match up! But hey, Clair, it's OK, it doesn't have to be perfect!! ;-)

I will add some journaling later, based on my blog post about the day, but I still haven't quite decided how... I might do it as a list: Reading, Eating, Doing... kind of thing, or maybe a diary format with times of the day, or just bullet points of the main events, or a narrative, or... You see my problem?! And, do I use a black pen and just work round the name of the month, or maybe a silver one and write over the entire journaling block, with the word and '25' still visible behind the silver? Hmmm......

I really like this layout and I love the little photo squares which tell stories of their own. I note you kept yourself in a small square ;). As for the journaling, decisions, decisions! Good luck with chosing which way to go - I'm not the best at making decisions :(

Love this format. Please tell me you used a square punch and did not hand cut all those squares!

All good...I love the storyboard feel...and I quite like the idea of silver journaling with the black 25 showing through...but that's just me!!!

I'm sure it'll be fab however you decide to do your journaling. Love your pink colour scheme and all the little square photos.

Oooh, I'm loving this! Glad that you're beginning to embrace the imperfect - I think it's my imperfect friendship having an influence on you x

Oh, and black pen - but maybe journal around those white edges and leave the journalling area blank. I know. Weird but different :)

This has to be one of my favorites. I love how many photos you got onto this layout, and how each photo still "shines." What's the overall measurement of the book you're using?

Thanks, everyone - your comments are much appreciated :-)

Karen, it's a 15 by 7" calendar by Making Memories (so each layout uses two 15 by 7" pages) :-)
