I Hate Having My Photo Taken!!

I've mentioned this before.... So it's not exactly a new confession, but it's going into my I Have To Confess album anyway! Inspired by a tone on tone example in one of the class prompts for Something From Almost Nothing, I decided to stick to just the plain cardstock that I've been using for my pages, and see what I could do with that. Here's the answer:

The title was die-cut and then crumpled before being glued onto the page. I ran lots of lines of (deliberately crooked!) stitching over the top to make sure the letters were secured. For the photo mat I cut a large circle of card, distressed the edges and stitched roughly around it. The frame was hand-cut from a shape included in one of Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas prompts, resized and with the middle cut out; again, I distressed all the edges and added a stitched border. I wanted parts of the photo to peek out round the edges of the frame so I sized it accordingly. Then I just cut out a couple of smaller circles and a couple of strips from the card, crumpled them and added stitched detail, and stuck it all together!

Loving the tone on tone! I think using colours such as cream &/or white for it is just so classy

Wow.. I love it! Clean & simple yet distressed.. Ironically, the all-white colour scheme really draws attention to the photo! I really must try something similar... although someone would have to drag me away to stop me adding sparkly bits etc at the end ;o)

LOL! I wonder how many of us can relate to this page. I'm always thrilled when there's a decent one. Love the white on white and distressing you did.

Mel, you really are one of the bravest scrappers/crafters I know! This is a fabulous layout - just because you were courageous enough to run with the whole Tone on Tone idea from start to finish. Everything fits together - all the techniques, the shapes, the stitching, the frame - to give a fantastic finish!
A great layout!
